Roof Installation, Replacement & Repairs in Toledo, OH
Your roof is your home's first line of defense, and Blackridge Exteriors delivers roofing systems built for strength, longevity, and performance. We specialize in professional roof installation, replacement, and repairs using high-quality materials designed to withstand harsh weather conditions.
Founder Donovan Mabry brings years of experience in roofing, siding, and insurance restoration, and focuses on delivering high-quality, code-compliant installations with transparency and accountability. On a roof, much of what matters is out of sight once the job is done: the underlayment, the flashing, and the ventilation.
We install Atlas shingles, and we install metal roofing when that is the direction you want to go. A roof replacement also covers the parts around it: skylights, attic ventilation, and flashing. If we find rotted decking once the old roof is off, we replace it. You see it before it is covered up, and on an insurance job we document it and supplement it to your carrier.

Here for more than a roof?
This page is about roofing, but we work on the whole exterior. If you came looking for something else, go straight to siding installation, seamless gutters, window replacement, insulation, custom decks, or storm damage restoration. Or browse all of our services in one place.
I got quotes from 5+ different roofing companies and this company was above and beyond the best price (thousands less than everywhere else honestly) for a new roof and skylight with a 50 year warranty shingle. The guys running it are friendly, personable and have a great attitude. I did not feel like I was working with a salesman either but just another guy who wants to get the job done and done right for the right price for me. They got my entire roof done in one day.
Signs your roof needs a closer look
A few roof problems are obvious. Most start small and show up somewhere other than the roof. Here's what to watch for:
- Shingles that are missing, lifted, or creased after a windstorm
- Curling, cracking, or bare patches where the granules have worn off
- Heavy granule buildup in the gutters or at the bottom of downspouts
- Water stains on ceilings, or damp insulation and darkened wood in the attic
- Loose, rusted, or gapped flashing around chimneys, vents, and skylights
- A roofline that dips or sags
- Thick ridges of ice building up along the eaves in winter
Repair or replacement: how we decide
Plenty of roofs don't need replacing. A few blown-off shingles, a cracked pipe boot, or a bad section of flashing can usually be repaired. If that's what your roof needs, that's what we'll recommend.
Replacement starts to make sense when the problems are spread across the roof instead of sitting in one spot: widespread curling or granule loss, leaks showing up in different places, soft decking underfoot, or a roof that's simply near the end of its service life. Patching a roof in that condition usually means paying for another repair next season.
Either way, we show you what we found and explain your options in plain terms. No pressure, no rushed decisions, and no shortcuts.
What Northwest Ohio weather does to a roof
Roofs around Toledo get it from every direction. Spring and summer storms bring strong winds that lift and tear shingles, and hail can bruise them in ways that are hard to see from the ground. Winter adds snow, ice, and repeated freezing and thawing that work water into small gaps.
Ice dams are a common winter problem here. They form when heat escaping from the house warms the roof, snow melts, and the water refreezes at the colder roof edge. Water then backs up behind that ridge of ice and can leak into walls, ceilings, and insulation. The lasting fix usually isn't on the shingles at all. It's sealing air leaks into the attic and adding insulation, with ventilation helping keep roof temperatures even.
If a storm has already done damage, our storm damage restoration team handles inspections and repairs and assists with the insurance claims process. Our guide to the roof insurance claim process explains what to expect, step by step.
What affects the cost of a roof
Every roof is different, so every quote is written for your home, with clear, upfront pricing and no hidden costs. These are the main things that move the number:
- Roof size, and how steep it is
- How many existing layers need to be torn off
- The condition of the wood decking underneath
- The shingles or roofing material you choose
- Chimneys, skylights, valleys, and vents that need to be flashed
- Any attic ventilation changes the roof needs
- Access for equipment and debris removal around your property
